The range consists of pharmaceuticals both prescription and over the counter (OTC) – what is supplied to government hospitals and Osu Salas (State run pharmacies), private hospitals and retail chemists as well as doctors who dispense drugs as part of their private practice. SHL holds the leadership position in the Diabetic and Cardiovascular segments, and holds a dominant position in many of the therapeutic segments such as Gastrointestinal, Dermatology and Pain Management. Most recently the company introduced neuropsychiatric drugs for Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases.
SHL represents some of the most innovative surgical product companies. Over 100 surgeons and registrars have been trained by these companies in laparoscopic procedures, both locally and overseas in dedicated surgical training facilities, supported by continuous medical education programmes conducted across the country.
SHL was the first to introduce anti-bacterial coated sutures in Sri Lanka and is currently pioneering the trend towards minimal invasive surgery from open surgery, working directly with surgeons and associated healthcare professionals as well as healthcare institutions.
